As Santa Maria Parks and Recreation crews were in the process of removing a softball field at Minami Park, Residents were protesting in front of the Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department. Parks officials say they plan to replace the diamond with a soccer field. Their plans also include replacing another softball and baseball diamond. Officials say they are looking at ways to have enough space for all sports.
