Chalk one up for the good guys. Santa Maria Police answered a call about a possible robbery near the intersection of W. Betteravia Road and Thornburg Street last night. The victim reported that a male suspect with a handgun approached him and demanded money. The alleged robber fled with the victim’s money, but police caught up with 19-year-old Martin Montez De Oca a while later. He was taken into custody but no handgun was found during the initial investigation. Bail was set at 100,000 dollars.
