An 18-year-old is behind bars this morning after leading police on a brief foot chase onto the Santa Maria High School campus yesterday. Santa Maria Police say Jacob Aceves tried to strongarm a juvenile, demanding money. The victim was able to escape and run for help. Police caught up with Aceves a short time later. He ran onto the school campus but was eventually caught. Police say Aceves also matched the description of a suspect wanted for an attempted armed robbery just hours earlier. He was booked on several charges including possession of a loaded firearm on a school campus.
