The San Luis Obispo City Council has decided to move forward with a ban on flavored tobacco and e-cigarette products. The council voted 4-0 for the first reading of the ordinance. The ban would go into effect 90 days after a second reading. That reading isn’t scheduled until May. If approved, San Luis Obispo would become the third city in the county to ban the sale of flavored tobacco and e-cigarette products. Arroyo Grande and Morro Bay have similar ordinances.
