One man was sent to the hospital and another landed in jail yesterday. Santa Maria Police say it started yesterday morning with a call about vandalism in progress on North Western. When officers arrived, they found a male victim with a serious head injury on West Main. He had been at the North Western scene and was hit with a shovel. Further investigation led officers to serve an arrest warrant 37-year-old Juan Carlos Arizaga-Rosas. He was booked on suspicion of attempted murder. The victim is expected to survive his injuries.
