San Luis Obispo Police are investigating the sudden death of an Oceano man who fled a traffic stop over the weekend. Investigators say, officers tried to stop 56-year-old Richard Archuleta after he drove through a red light at around 1:15 Sunday morning. He fled the scene on foot, evading officers for about half an hour. One of the officers was flagged down by a person who discovered a bleeding man near the courthouse. Police believe he gained access to the courthouse roof after jumping into a secured, fenced area. Paramedics declared Archuleta dead at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
