The CHP is investigating a crash that sent a female driver to the hospital. Authorities say she was headed northbound on the 101 when she rear-ended another vehicle in Shell Beach. The driver then fled the scene but was later found on Spyglass Drive after going over the guardrail. The driver suffered moderate injuries. CHP officers recovered empty containers of alcohol. Toxicology tests will determine if the driver was under the influence.
