Repair work on Highway 1 near Big Sur has been suspended after a body was discovered. Caltrans has been working seven days a week on the section of the Highway that was washed away during a storm in January. The female body was discovered yesterday morning about 200 feet from where crews were working. Monterey County Sheriff’s investigators say it had been there for quite a while. Adding that they are working on identifying the person, cause of death, and notifying next of kin.
