San Luis Obispo County is lagging behind California’s COVID-19 vaccination percentages. Statewide, roughly 64 percent of residents have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. SLO County is currently just shy of 60 percent. San Luis Obispo County Public Health Officer Dr. Penny Borenstein said nearly 50% of the population is now fully vaccinated. Santa Barbara County has just over 45 percent of its population fully vaccinated.
