Governor Gavin Newsom was in San Luis Obispo County Yesterday. Newsom stopped at Lopez Lake, where the water level is only at 34.7 percent. He called on all Californians to voluntarily cut their water usage. “We’re hopeful that people will take that mindset that we brought into, the people of the state of California will take that mindset they brought into the last drought and extend that forward with a 15 percent voluntary reduction.” 50 of the state’s 58 counties are now under a drought emergency, affecting 42 percent of all California residents.
