The Lompoc Police Department will be starting a new Special Investigations Unit this month. According to KSBY, The department didn’t have enough officers to dedicate to violent crime investigations. The department has been without a gang task force or investigations unit for nearly four years. The new Special Investigations Unit is ready to start on July 17th.
