San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties have declared local drought emergencies. Extreme drought covers most of San Luis Obispo County. The SLO County Board of Supervisors declared a local drought emergency earlier this week. Days later the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors also declared a local emergency. The proclamations enable both counties to take immediate action to mitigate and respond to the current drought conditions.
