Newly released court documents related to the Kristin Smart murder case detail how investigators collected evidence at the home of Ruben Flores. His home was originally searched in February 2020. Another search of the property used ground-penetrating radar under a deck. That search turned up possible human blood, clothing threads consistent with what witnesses say Kristin was wearing before she disappeared, and a 4-by-6- foot “major disturbance.” Paul Flores’s defense attorney says the document release could be characterized as adding weak but sensational counts to a weak or nonexistent murder case.”
