Outdoor street dining in Downtown San Luis Obispo could become permanent. Earlier this week, the City Council unanimously agreed to move forward with a permanent city parklet program. A recent community survey showed an 83 percent approval rating. According to the Tribune, about two-thirds of businesses that have parklets would also like to make them permanent. The council also recognized the loss of precious parking spaces and suggested an acceleration of the proposed parking structure at the corner of Palm and Nipomo.
