The Atascadero Fire Department has sent a strike team to help out firefighters working the Dixie afire as part of a Statewide Mutual Aid Program. According to KSBY, other local firefighters have stepped up to make sure things are covered while the crew is helping out with the Dixie Fire, which has now grown to 197,487 acres. It is currently 22 percent contained. San Luis Obispo County has also sent crews to the River Fire in Mariposa County.
