Atascadero Unified School District schools are the first in San Luis Obispo county to return to in-person learning this morning. Students will be required to wear a face-covering when in classrooms, despite protests from several parents regarding potential health impacts. District officials say they are between a rock and a hard place. The California Department of Public Health’s mask mandate applies to all private, charter, and public schools. Other Districts in the county say they will follow CDC and state guidelines.
