An Oceano man, convicted of sex crimes against a teenage girl has been sentenced yesterday. In July of this year, 38-year-old Joshua Delante Wheeler was convicted of eight felony sex crimes involving a 16-year-old girl. Yesterday the judge in the case sentenced him to 76 years in state prison. It’s unclear when he’ll be eligible for parole. D.A. Dan Dow says the sentence should encourage young victims to come forward so offenders can be brought to justice.
