One person is dead following a weekend officer-involved shooting. Lompoc Police say they answered an assault with a deadly weapon call Saturday night at around 6:30. When officers arrived at the West Cypress Avenue scene, the suspect barricaded inside the residence. According to investigators, the suspect eventually came to the door with a handgun and pointed it at the officers. Officer then fired and the suspect was killed. The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office is handling the investigation.
