San Luis Obispo County officials have responded to a recently released report by the U.S. Department of Justice. According to the Tribune, That report claimed the County Jail had violated inmates’ rights and does not provide adequate medical and mental health care. County Counsel Rita Neal disagrees, and in a letter to the DOJ called the report stale, ignoring current protocols, policies, and practices, and conflicts with the very statements made by the DOJ onsite investigative team.
