Atascadero Police are investigating a stabbing incident that left a dog dead. According to police, it happened Thursday evening just before 6 o’clock. Two men were walking their dogs off-leash in the Salinas Riverbed when the dogs began to fight. One of the owners stabbed the other dog, trying to stop the fight. The two men then began fighting. The dog would die from its injury. The investigation is ongoing.
