The Audubon Society, SurfRider, and the Sierra Club are just a few of the environmental groups opposing a newly proposed offshore wind farm. The demonstration project would be along the Vandenberg Space Force Base coast in California State-run waters. The proposed project calls for two turbines to be built in an area considered by some to be untouched oceanfront and a rich wildlife habitat.
