Lompoc Police are investigating a fatal shooting incident that happened yesterday afternoon. Investigators say it happened at around 2:15 on South 3rd Street. Nearby Hapgood Elementary School was placed on lockdown for about a half-hour because of the shooting. The victim died on the way to the hospital. Police do NOT believe the incident was gang-related.
