Some Central Coast cities will be discussing a new state law that would allow up to four units on a single-family lot. Senate Bill 9 is designed to ease the current housing crisis by ending traditional single-family zoning restrictions. According to the Tribune, that could mean up to 8500 new units in San Luis Obispo County. Opponents worry that SB-9 could change the look and feel of their neighborhoods and affect their property values. SB-9 goes into effect on January 1st.
