Most of San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties are now in a “moderate” drought. That’s the word from the U.S. Drought Monitor. It’s also an improvement from “severe” drought just a couple of weeks ago. We’re still seeing effects from last month’s storms, which continue to help improve local lake and reservoir levels. Officials say we’re not out of the drought yet. And statewide water restrictions will be in effect for at least the next year.
