Just days after moving 244 inmates from the Santa Barbara County Main Jail to the Northern Branch Jail in Santa Maria, Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s officials say six of those inmates have tested positive for COVID-19. Officials say all 244 inmates and transporting staff had tested negative for the virus before the transfer. The COVID-19 positive inmates have since been rehoused.
