The California Coastal Commission has given a grant to the City of Santa Maria. The 27,000 dollar grant will help the city’s Recreation and Parks Department launch an educational program for all ages called “Coastal Guardians of Santa Maria.” The goal is to help participants learn how to preserve and protect the California coastline. The funds come from the Coastal Commission’s 2022 Whale Tail Competitive Grants Program.
