Rodeo Team Makes 11-Year-Old’s Dream Come True

The Cal Poly Rodeo Team is helping an 11-year-old’s dream of barrel racing come true. Maddilynn Owens, of Winston California, grew up riding horses. According to the Tribune, she was diagnosed with “Ewing osteosarcoma” in August 2020. After going through chemotherapy and surgery that removed a tumor from her arm and replaced a bone in her arm with her fibula, she’s now strong enough to ride again. She’s now training to race at the Poly Royal Rodeo in April.
