Time is running out for anyone wanting to run for local public office in the upcoming June countywide election. The filing period for candidates ends on March 11th. So far, according to the Tribune, only one county seat is facing challengers. That would be County Clerk-Recorder Elaina Cano. Other non-judicial positions that currently have no opposition are District Attorney, County Sheriff, Assessor, Auditor/Controller/Treasurer/Tax Collector, and County Superintendent of Schools.
