California public schools can drop mask requirements on March 12th. In San Luis Obispo County, Lucia Mar Unified School District officials say they will follow the state and County Public Health guidelines for indoor face coverings, and that the first day of in-person instruction with voluntary masking will be Monday the 14th. Meanwhile, Santa Maria Joint Union High School District officials are going to wait for the Santa Barbara County Public Health Department to make a determination on the new masking guidance before making an announcement.
