The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office says a suspected catalytic converter thief is in custody. An alert Orcutt resident on Diamond Drive called 911 at around 3:30 yesterday morning to say they were witnessing two people stealing a catalytic converter. Deputies spotted a parked car that matched the witness’ description. They caught up with 31-year-old Xiong Vue from Merced. He was arrested after deputies found several catalytic converters and tools in the getaway car.
