The City of Morro Bay Utility Department and the San Luis Obispo County Health Department are dealing with a 10,000-gallon sewage spill. Officials say the spill began sometime between Thursday and yesterday. It came from a sewage pipe that runs under Highway 1, near a lift station. Health officials say after the break the sewage was contained to a retention basin between Highway 1 and Coral Avenue. The public is advised to avoid the area.
