Parklet outdoor dining has been a topic of discussion for several cities on the Central Coast. Some cities have decided to do away with the dining spaces that helped several restaurants stay in business during the pandemic. Others, like Arroyo Grande would like to keep, and improve them. A recent survey showed 71 percent of A.G. residents would like the parklets to become permanent. The City Council would need to come up with a plan to deal with a loss of parking while making parklets equitable for all the businesses in the Village.
