A Santa Maria shooting incident prompted the lockdown of two area schools. It happened yesterday afternoon at around 2:40. The victim said he and his son were sitting at the intersection of Alvin and Railroad avenues when a car pulled up and opened fire. The suspect vehicle fled but crashed about two blocks away. Two females in the car were arrested. A male suspect fled into a nearby neighborhood. Police caught up with Junior Freddy Martinez a couple of hours later. Students at El Camino Junior High and Robert Bruce Elementary School were allowed to go home at around 4:30.
