Cal Fire SLO Crews Keep Vegetation Fire In Check

Cal Fire SLO firefighters were called out to a vegetation fire yesterday afternoon. The blaze broke out just east of Santa Maria off Suey Creek Road near Highway 166. Crews kept the flames contained with two air tankers, nine engines and two bulldozers, and an assist from Santa Barbara County Fire. Officials say the fire scorched about 17 acres by the time it was fully contained. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
