Parents dropping their kids off at schools in Grover Beach yesterday may have noticed an increase in police presence. The Grover Beach Police Department tweeted that officers spent extra time on or near campuses throughout the day. Chief John Peters confirmed the was due to the deadly shooting in Uvalde Texas. A meeting of county school officials and Sheriff Ian Parkinson has been scheduled to review safety protocols and response measures.
