Kristin Smart Murder Case Has First Hearing

The Kristin Smart Murder case now has a tentative pretrial schedule. For the first time since being moved to Salinas, Prosecutors and defense attorneys will appear for a pretrial hearing on June 6th. Jury questioning could begin on June 13th, with jurors selected by June 24th. Opening statements are expected to begin on July 6th. Paul Flores is accused of murdering Kristin Smart 26 years ago after an off-campus party. His father Ruben is accused of helping his son hide the 19-year-old’s body.
