Brush Fire Near Lopez Lake

Firefighters are working to contain a vegetation fire near Lopez Lake in the Hi Mountain area. The fire broke out yesterday afternoon at around 3:30. According to the Tribune, the fire was estimated to be about 30 acres with a potential to grow to 100 acres. Winds in the area had been carrying embers ahead of the main fire creating spot fires. At last report, crews have been able to hold the flames to about 22 acres. Firefighters will continue to fight the fire on the ground and from the air this morning.
