In Santa Barbara County, early results for the race for County Sheriff had Sheriff Bill Brown leading with 57 percent of the votes cast. His challenger Lt. Juan Camarena had 43 percent of the vote. Incumbent Santa Barbara County Superintendent of Schools Susan Salcido was holding the lead over challenger Christy Lozano with 67.7 percent of the votes.
