The Lompoc City Fire Department will be looking for a new Fire Chief. Chief Alicia Welch announced that she would be stepping down on July 20th. The city’s first woman fire chief was placed on administrative leave after she was arrested in San Luis Obispo County on suspicion of domestic abuse in May this year. The SLO County D.A.’s Office never filed charges, citing a lack of sufficient evidence.
