The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office has introduced a new program that could help inmates reintegrate into the community. The tattoo Removal Program at the Northern Branch of the County Jail in Santa Maria is designed to help the inmates by removing tattoos or body art that may be deemed socially unacceptable. To take part, inmates must take part in rehab programs, have no current discipline reports, and be sentenced long enough to complete the removal process.
