Local law enforcement agencies up and down the Central Coast say their drone programs helped cut down on illegal fireworks over the Fourth of July weekend. Authorities speculate just knowing drones were being used kept some residents from lighting their unauthorized pyrotechnics. According to KSBY, most agencies called the programs a success. Santa Maria Police say it could be a couple of weeks before their final numbers are tallied.
