A Paso Robles man died following a high-speed crash on Highway 101 yesterday. The crash happened just after 7 p.m. near the South Spring Street exit. The 54-year-old driver was traveling at a high rate of speed, passing traffic on both shoulders of the highway. CHP investigators say he clipped another car, causing his vehicle to careen out of control, striking an embankment before landing on its roof. Authorities say it’s unclear if drugs or alcohol played a part in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
