A drive to keep the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant operating beyond 2025 seems to be growing. Recently proposed legislation in Sacramento caught the attention of a coalition of nine Central Coast mayors. Including mayors from Lompoc and Santa Maria. They sent a letter to Governor Newsom in hopes of gaining input in the legislation that would involve the entire region. The primary concern of the mayoral coalition is the overall safety of their communities.
