The San Luis Obispo Police Department will be hosting its first gun buyback event. Officials are calling it “Groceries For Guns.” The buyback will take place on Saturday, October 1st at the City Corporation Yard parking lot from 9 am to 1 pm. Gun owners will be offered gift cards to local grocery stores for each weapon turned in. 200 dollars for assault-style rifles, 100 dollars for handguns, rifles, and shotguns, and 50 dollars for any non-operational firearm.
