New previously sealed documents released in the Kristin Smart case reveal Paul Flores’ former attorneys may have been working on a plea deal. According to the Tribune, notes taken during a conversation in May 2010 Paul’s former attorney, Mel De la Motte is quoted as saying, in part, “if you’ll come to me with an offer of an involuntary with only one condition and that is that he’ll take law enforcement to the body, then I can make that deal happen.” The document also reveals other details not yet allowed in court. the trial continues this Monday morning.
