The last witness in the Kristin Smart murder trial took the stand yesterday. DNA analyst Angela Butler had previously testified about soil samples reportedly collected from Ruben Flores’ yard in 2021. Yesterday, she testified that her company had tested samples from other cases dating back to the 70s and 80s. Closing arguments will begin on Monday. The two juries will then head to separate deliberation rooms to reach a verdict. If verdicts are reached in each case they will be read separately.
