Closing arguments in the Kristin Smart murder trial began yesterday. Paul Flores is alleged to be the last person to see Kristin alive. His father Ruben is charged with helping him hide her body. While they are being tried together, the father and son have separate juries that will hand down separate verdicts. Paul’s jury heard closing arguments in his case as prosecutors reviewed the case against him. His defense attorney said the case was based on passion, prejudice, opinion, and innuendo, and that there was no evidence of a murder. Closing arguments in Ruben Flores’ case begin this morning.
