A new rule in San Luis Obispo could ensure the availability of affordable housing. Under the “Inclusionary Housing Ordinance,” residential developers would be required to include affordable housing units within their projects to create more socio-economic diverse communities and neighborhoods. According to KEYT, the ordinance also requires commercial developers to pay an impact fee that would help safeguard affordable housing availability.
