Santa Maria Shooting Prompts School Lockdowns

A Santa Maria Shooting incident forced two schools to lockdown yesterday afternoon. Police say the shooting happened on North Thornburg Street just after noon. El Camino Junior High and Robert Bruce Elementary schools were placed on lockdown shortly afterward. Police found a 20-year-old male victim with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his leg. Santa Maria Bonita School District officials say students and staff were never in any danger. The shooting investigation is ongoing.
