There’s a troubling nationwide trend that’s impacting local school kids. According to the Nation’s Report Card, most states have seen a decline in test scores for 4th and 8th graders in reading and math. According to KSBY, local school districts have seen similar testing trends. Officials with Santa Maria Bonita and Lucia Mar Unified school districts say they have expanded support programs to help students get back on track following the pandemic.
